“My favorite thing about FCCLA is the friends that you make and the community that is behind you. My number one favorite thing is NLC. I loved going to Nationals last year. I had so much fun competing, pin trading, and watching the sessions. I can’t wait to go this year with my crew."

Why is FCCLA important to Carter?

"FCCLA is important to me because it brings a sense of belonging. Throughout my FCCLA journey, I've seen many people gain friends in a matter of days, gaining stronger bonds than they thought possible in that short time. But most importantly, l've seen people gain a community to belong to, a community of leaders united under the same goals and core values of FCCLA. The community found in FCCLA is unmatched, one that's easy to grow into, and hard to grow out of. When you become part of this community, especially on a district, state or national level, which I encourage you all to do if you wish to be part of such a valuable community as this."

What has FCCLA taught Gracie?

"FCCLA has taught me the true importance of leadership in today’s society. Serving as President for two years and Vice President of Fundraising for one year pushed me to step up, take responsibility, and lead with confidence! These experiences challenged me to grow beyond my comfort zone and strengthened my communication, organization, and teamwork skills. I have grown both as a leader and as a person, gaining valuable skills and lifelong values that will benefit me in my future education, career, and everyday life!"
